What Treatment Style
would be best for me?
You can either specify
a treatment style when you book, or simply tell your therapist how
you're feeling when you arrive and they will craft your massage
especially for you on any given day, drawing from a range of techniques
to make you feel great. The key is to communicate when calling, and
communicating with your massage therapist so we know how to structure
your session once you arrive. For example, if you like deep tissue work
or specifically want a therapist trained in Reiki let us know ahead of
time.
What do I
do Before My
Massage?
Please plan to shower
prior to your massage. We suggest that you allow 15-20 minutes before
your first appointment to check in, fill out a brief health profile and
enjoy the facilities before your first session. It's important to have
had a couple glasses of water before your massage as to be hydrated.
Information gathered
during your massage session or skin treatments strictly confidential.
Questions regarding your health may be asked during these sessions
merely to accurately gauge levels of stress, extent of injuries, or
personal goals in the treatment.
You'll want to wear
something comfortable, no need to dress up. Clients are draped during
massage, skin or body treatments. When an area such as the back is being
massaged, this area is uncovered, massaged and then recovered to keep
the muscles warm. Draping is required and is used for the purposes of
warmth and professionalism. Undergarments can be worn if the client
wishes.
What do I do once I am
in the Room?
Once in your room,
the therapist will come in and let you know where to put your
belongings, go over the massage and your health intake form. You will
have an opportunity to ask as many questions as you want before your
session.
The therapist will
then leave and close the door, giving you 3-5 minutes to get relaxed
and changed. Once undressed go ahead and lay face down or face up,
depending on what the therapist has went over with you, under the sheet.
Your therapist will be with you shortly, at your scheduled appointment
time and will knock before entering.
What if I am
Uncomfortable During My Massage?
The most common reason
people have bad massage experiences is because they didn't want to say
anything to their therapist during their massage. If you're too hot or
cold, the music is too loud or soft, or you dislike it or the touch is
too hard, or if you feel uncomfortable in any way, do not hesitate to
let your therapist know immediately. Everything from the music volume
in the room to the angle of your face rest is adjustable. Your therapist
will never be offended if you make a request to turn up the heat, add a
blanket, or adjust the pressure or the music during your session.
A Peaceful
Environment:
For the relaxation and
enjoyment of all of our clients the entire Center is a cell phone and
pager free zone. It's up to you whether you want to talk with your
therapist during your massage. Your therapist will not be offended if
you let them know you just want to relax quietly. Some people like to
talk in the beginning of the massage and our therapist are pretty in
tuned to know when you are ready for quiet time.
Will I
Experience any Discomfort?
That depends on your
treatment plan. A massage is typically a very soothing and tranquil
experience. Occasionally, if we need to work out a troubled area of your
body to help the healing process, you may experience brief moments of
discomfort or pain, this is where communication is so important. The "no
pain, no gain" mentality is not really appropriate for massage. There's
a fine line between therapeutic discomfort when a "knot" is "worked
out", and just plain pain. So please do hesitate to speak up if the
pressure is too much for you. Working within your comfort zone can
achieve great results, so you decide how much. How will I Feel Afterwards?
After a massage, most
people feel refreshed, relaxed, and at peace. A massage can reduce pain,
tension and stress. You should drink plenty of water following a massage
in order to help expunge the toxins that may be released in your body
following a massage. Will Massage "Fix whatever is Bothering Me?
Healing is a process
with many components. there's no quick fix - not even with massage.
Massage complements other traditional and non-traditional healing
methods. As a high percentage of diseases are stress-related, and
massage is an excellent stress remedy, massage may significantly relieve
symptoms and speed recovery for many conditions. And, since massage is
relatively non-invasive, it is safe in almost all cases.
What are the
Benefits
of Massage?
How Often should I get a Massage?
The benefits of
massage are cumulative, if supported by regular maintenance treatments. What if I Need to Cancel?
Cancellation Policy:
If your appointment is
booked the same day you call, please be aware that the cancellation
policy will be in effect once your appointment is set.
This is done in
fairness both to clients who would otherwise have wanted the appointment
as well as the therapist, who is not paid if they do not perform the
session.
If you are late to
your session you are welcome to receive whatever time is left in your
appointment and the charge will be the same.. Due to our tightly booked
schedule we are generally unable to extend your session beyond your
